I have downloaded three .cmg files from Knoppix klik format into arch linux system.
I was able to run the applications, galculator, skype, and opera7.5.4 within arch kernel2.6.10-2.
I utilized cramfs as a module. I entered the command:
mount -t cramfs -o loop (paste ID of .cmg) /mnt/app
I then opened /mnt/app and click and drag AppRun file to "wrapper" file.
This enabled the selected .cmg to run.
Opera appears in full screen, galculator (with libglade from pacman added) appears on the desktop and responds to entries. Skype provided a window for initiating telephone connections.
I have hacked at this problem and perhaps this method is ridiculous but it works.
I found it necessary to provide the /mnt/app directory and to enable it full permissions.
All operations were in root.
I hope someone else can give this a shot. There are hundreds of applications available at klik on .cmg and more being made available every day.
The system downloads with run command;
wget klik.atekon.de/client/install -O -|sh
The install requires some fstab entries. It is followed by a window to the klik software store where the applications are categorized and permit downloading.
Some of the .cmg files are provided from other than Knoppix-debian systems.
Firefox works great in the klik download.
Give it a shot!!!!
