[Solved]Boot hangs at acpi module loading

Hi,
My new laptop (MSI CX600) arrived yesterday, and of course the first thing I did was try to replace vista with arch. Unfortunately I ran into a problem that I can't figure out. Every time I booted from the live cd, it would hang at acpi loading. I added acpi=off to the boot options and I was able to install without any issues. Now when I boot the laptop I still get the exact same problem. I think it's possible to turn acpi off from grub, but wouldn't I be losing an important feature? I would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Thanks for the help, that worked perfectly.  Unfortunately the laptop isn't very good.  The fan is constantly on and there are a few other issues.  I'm just going to return it.
