Webcam work only as microphone

Good day to you all, I have this problem with my old webcam.
The result of the command lsusb is this: Bus 004 Device 002: ID 046d:08b0 Logitech, Inc. QuickCam 3000 Pro [pwc]
Looks like it should work! It doesn't, I tried with cheese and with skype. Curious thing, the webcam work justf ine as a microphone in skype, and on skype only since I dont know how to set the webcam as default mic for the OS, in ubuntu (I am new in arch) there was a gui tool in System/Administration used to set audio input/output for everything, that was the way I used to set the webcam as a mic for all, as for now I cant even use it on applications that are not skype.
Can anyone help? At least the mic issue should be easy to fix, I really hope for the video.
