nvidia legacy driver needed to run X

Just installed Arch from a previous Linux installation. I run a three monitor config using an old Nvidia FX5200 and an old Matrox card. I have a nice xorg.conf that i carry around just for this purpose. My problem is that the current Nvidia driver for Arch is 18x.x and this driver is way too new for my antiquated video card, the driver i use is 169.09. What i usually do is build custom Kernels and then just use and old legacy driver and build that against my Kernel. So now for the question, is it possible to just install a legacy driver from Nvidia, or will i have to go my usual route and build a new Kernel for Arch and then build the driver for Nvidia against this? I dont mind doing this as i love to continually change kernel configs. I just would like to know if i can install an Nvidia driver for Arch without doing this?

You could try building the driver from abs.  You'll need to edit the PKGBUILD and change the pkgver to 169.09 and the same for nvidia-utils.
