Can't eject cdrom with the real eject button

Hello,

I'm using Arch with the XFCE DE.

When I try to eject a cdrom with the real hardware button it gives this error (translated to english):

Failed to eject "/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/storage_model_CDDVDW_SN_S082H"..

Device "/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/storage_model_CDDVDW_SN_S082H" is not a volume or drive.

However if I eject it from the icon menu it works..

Another issue that migth be related is that I can't play video dvd's.
When I insert a video dvd totem is lauched, but it gives a error saying "No media in drive for device '/dev/sr0'.".
Using VLC gives the same message.
If I browse the contents of the DVD, the files are there.

What can I do?

Thanks,

Pedro Saraiva

Re: Can't eject cdrom with the real eject button

I may be wrong but don't you have to unmount a CD before it can be ejected? I have seen on several occasions that the hardware eject is ignored until the CD is unmounted.
