Cleaning up inactive AUR packages
Hi all,
I was looking at the dvdauthorwizard package in AUR and saw it is sorely out-of-date. There's another package in community that seems to be the same thing, so I was wondering what the protocol was for deleting these inactive packages. Who gives the okay that a package can be removed? Since this particular package has no owner, should I just take ownership and delete it?

You can not delete packages, only TUs can. Send an email to the aur-general list and they will clean it up.

Or you can, as you suggested, adopt orphaned AUR packages and update them yourself.

Thanks to both for the info. I went ahead and joined the aur-general mailing list and sent an e-mail to request the deletion of the package. If I come across a package I need that's not being maintained by anyone, I'll definitely take ownership and give it a shot
