Hi!
So I have a lot of Mp3s which show up in audacious' playlist with "(invalid UTF-8)". Here ist the FAQ from the audacious homepage:
http://audacious-media-player.org/faq#id15
I installed python-chardet but I don't know how to set it up or how audacious can use it? I tried several fallback encodings in the audacious menu under Preferences - Playlist - Metadata but nothing seems to work...
My locale output is:
LANG=de_DE.utf8
LC_CTYPE="de_DE.utf8"
LC_NUMERIC="de_DE.utf8"
LC_TIME="de_DE.utf8"
LC_COLLATE="de_DE.utf8"
LC_MONETARY="de_DE.utf8"
LC_MESSAGES="de_DE.utf8"
LC_PAPER="de_DE.utf8"
LC_NAME="de_DE.utf8"
LC_ADDRESS="de_DE.utf8"
LC_TELEPHONE="de_DE.utf8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="de_DE.utf8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="de_DE.utf8"
LC_ALL=
So how can I set up the correct fallback encodings for audacious? Any help would be appreciated.:)

Urfaust,
There is a patch in this bug report that might solve your problem. I'm not sure it's the exact same problem, though.
