subversion broke and whatever else
$ svn up
svn: error while loading shared libraries: libldap-2.3.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

compare the version of subversion that you have with the version from archlinux.org/packages
if they aren't the same then find a proper mirror that is synced

Well, I do have a db-4.8 rebuild on the way...
Just so it is clear, UPDATE YOUR SYSTEM and all these problems will go away.

mplayer: error while loading shared libraries: libldap-2.3.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Same for smplayer. I double checked the version of smplayer and mplayer with the package database and it's ok. (mplayer-29411-3 smplayer-0.6.8-1)
I don't want to open a new topic for this, but claws-mail is also broken.

Err... my bad, sorry. The mirrors were out of sync indeed, so I changed them in the /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist, and now everything works fine. Thanks, and sorry again.
Maybe somebody can use this too:

i upgraded today for the first time in about a week...
[chris: ~]$ pidgin
pidgin: error while loading shared libraries: libgstfarsight-0.10.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
is this part of the same problem?

i changed to archlinux.unixheads.org, as the link you posted says it was last synced 2 hours ago. the package database re-synchronized (was not already up to date, verification that mirror i was using before wasn't fully synched), but no packages where updated.
also:
[chris: /etc/pacman.d]$ sudo pacman -Sy libgstfarsight
:: Synchronizing package databases...
core is up to date
extra is up to date
community is up to date
libgstfarsight package not found, searching for group...
error: 'libgstfarsight': not found in sync db
[chris: /etc/pacman.d]$
edit: well, reinstalling pidgin fixed it. nvm.
