Hello am trying to get the gdm desktop login screen to show up when i turn my system back on. I just installed Arch and am having troubles configuring the /etc/inittab.conf.

I changed it accordingly like suggested in the Arch Wiki but cant seem to get it to load.

here is the link to my inittab.conf

Your problem is here:

## Only one of the following two lines can be uncommented!
# Boot to console
id:3:initdefault:
 Boot to X11
id:5:initdefault:

Re: getting grub login screen to show up?

Running gdm at boot is as easy as adding it to the daemons array in /etc/rc.conf

Is that what you meant,

The human being created civilization not because of willingness but of a need to be assimilated into higher orders of structure and meaning.
