I recently made a full archlinux update which also updated KDE4. Now there are no icons displayed whereever any icons are. For example the launch button, the toolbar in programs and also dock icons in the taskbar. Non-KDE docking program icons are displayed however.
Am I missing a new kde package dependency? How can I check?
Or is the nvidia driver messing up?

Tsy "pacman -S oxygen-icons".

That solves it. Thanks!
I looked through packages starting with "kde...." but didn't guess oxygen.

Looks like your system is broken. oxygen-icons are installed as a dependency. Did you ever use -d or might your fs be corrupt?

Not sure about -d. I'd be surprised if my file system is corrupt.
Is there any way that dependencies are not checked when I update? I mean the structure of the packages has changed and I even was surprised that I had to install a new separate package for Dolphin *manually*.
Is there a way to check all dependencies of the programs installed? I couldn't find it.

testdb as root gives no output and there is no man page. How do I use it?
And btw, I suppose all *.pacnew files are not used. Can that be a source of problems?

Gerenuk81, how did you install? Looks like you tried to install one piece at a time. I installed kdebase-workspace and then meta packages I needed. kdebase-workspace will install dolphin, the icons...
