Should I download and use the the .iso or base.iso?
I did take a look at the docs first but I'm still confused which one is the preferable one to use. I know it said the base iso is only 200 meg. How many meg is the full iso? Should I use the full iso or base iso? Thanks and I'm glad to be part of the community.

Unless you plan to do an install on few boxes, I'd go for the base one. It contains everything you need to have the system up and running, you'll just download the rest with pacman.
Have fun with installing and welcome to the world of Arch :-)

ps. Full iso is 560 mb big.
