Re: A new lightweight music manager

Hello.. big_smile

Finally Pragha depends on gtk> 2.16.

Thanks to this, eliminate eggtrayicon and sexyentry... big_smile

The executable, and the memory consumption one was reduced!

And now show OSD on mouse over on StatusIcon!! yikes (it is necessary to improve it), roll but an excellent beginning..

Please.. Test all this from svn..

The search in playlist follows slope..:/

Edit:
Also I played with inkscape. That icon prefers? The Present one or this?

Re: A new lightweight music manager

Do you mean tooltips (when mouse over)? What about the Gnome keybindings? It's hardly usable without them... hmm

The icon looks good, though I'd prefer a somewhat round icon in the systray. Also I'd make a thin outline around the P.

edit: I've now 12,6MB memory usage. I think, I had something between 8 and 9MB with the previous versions. yikes

Re: A new lightweight music manager

Ouch..
YES, they are simples tooltips..

and it forgets to answer on GnomeKeybindings.. Sorry.. hmm

I use xfce, thus to use gnome-keybindings is to me useless..

I tell you. It investigates, and it is a very good system but it only works in gnome.. and it does not use rhythombox either..
However it uses mmkeys (http://git.gnome.org/cgit/rhythmbox/tree/plugins/mmkeys) to use the global keys.. That i like but and will integrate soon in pragha...

Tips: While it investigated arrives breadfruit...http://www.nepherte.be/mpd-ncmpc-and-ke … k-control/
The same effect can be obtained, using the global combinations of metacity...:D

Launch gconf-editor..
In /app/metacity/keybinding_commands, they are the commands to execute.
In /app/metacity/global_keybindings, the keys that correspond to the commands..

Example: /app/metacity/keybinding_commands/command_1 = pragha -p
and /app/metacity/global_keybindings/run_command_1 = XF86AudioPlay

command_1 = pragha -p      =>        run_command_1 = XF86AudioPlay
command_2 = pragha -s      =>        run_command_2 = XF86AudioStop
command_3 = pragha -r       =>        run_command_3 = XF86AudioPrev
command_4 = pragha -n      =>        run_command_4 = XF86AudioNext
command_5 = pragha -p      =>        run_command_5 = XF86AudioPlay
command_6 = pragha          =>        run_command_6 = XF86AudioMedia

D'Oh! Testing, I occur whatever that needs a  play/slows command!!! Edit: FIXED in SVN. Now "pragha -t" play pause and resume

The new icon, later I speak with a friend who is designer he improves so that it or he remakes..

Re: A new lightweight music manager

Unfortunately I use Compiz, so no Metacity. sad

edit: Pragha today with 11,1MB. smile The "Jump to current track" works fine. Btw, why is the search grayed out (though in fact it has been always grayed out)?

With compiz is more easy...  lol
Execute ccsm (The setting dialog of compiz!-), General Options, Commands. Now add the commands, and graphically you define the keys.. Verified. XD

Excuse. For two weeks nondevelopment, and not probe pragha.. If not see any bug these days, make a new tarball.. wink

Re: A new lightweight music manager

Hello all.

In Svn, add option to search lyrics using http://www.lyricsplugin.combig_smile

Experiments to integrate it with webkit within pragha (and works perfect! -) but now works with the external browser, until integrating a good plugin manager.. smile

Tesssssstt... wink

Good luck.

Re: A new lightweight music manager

I can't get Pragha to detect my oss backend... /dev/dsp doesn't seem to work... Amarok however is able to play with OSS backend just fine.

Also while you are adding command like options... could you add the ability to append tracks from the command line and play tracks from the comand line...

like:
pragha --append TRACK (appends track to end of playlist)
pragha --load TRACK (clears list and adds track)

These should be able to be combined with the -p --play option
so that
pragha --play --append TRACK (appends track to end and starts playing)

Re: A new lightweight music manager

Hello all... smile

Pragha, continues advancing. Little by little, but it advances..

The future pragha 0.7.1, will not bring great new features (Excepting the search of lyrics!-). But the menus modified
completely, for one better organization and names more advisable. (All debatable).

Thus it was that many translations changed..

Very many thanks for its translations... and now invite them to continue translating pragha...

First prerelease of v0.7.1 is out: http://dissonance.googlecode.com/files/ … e1.tar.bz2

Overview of changes in Pragha 0.7.1Pre1:
Rework all menus.
Use more advisable names. "Add to playlist" instead "Equeque", "Replace playlist" instead "Play", etc.
Menus modified completely for one better organization
Now activate the panels from the menu bar.
New properties of current song in menu bar.

Others Changes:
Add option to search lyrics using http://www.lyricsplugin.com.
    Add more tooltips.
    A new icon

Add Fest mode:
    Add Fullscreen option.
Add Options to hide menu bar and status bar.

Bugs fixed:
Show "track" (Before show "tracks") in statusbar when unique song in playlist.
No show track no in playlist, when is zero.
Show filename in playlist when unknown title tag.

Regards.
Matias.

I'll update the German translation asap.

Menus modified completely for one better organization
Now activate the panels from the menu bar.
New properties of current song in menu bar.

[...]

Add Fest mode:
    Add Fullscreen option.
Add Options to hide menu bar and status bar.

But how to reactivate them? After the first start of the new version the menu and status bars are gone and I don't see any way to reactivate them. Also the preferences dialogue isn't accessible any more (not even through the systray menu).

Show filename in playlist when unknown title tag.

Thanks, that bug bothered me all the time! smile

Re: A new lightweight music manager

Sorry.. I could not unload the file.
Just today could put to me to work in pragha... you can send it by email??

The menu becomes to activate with <Ctrl>+M.

Now, it remembers if hill like complete screen, and if the menu were hidden like two different options..
Perhaps a single option called "Fest mode" like rhythmbox is better..

Now add "Properties" in syatray menu in Svn.. and restore "Search in playlist" menu item...

Thanks..

Hello all..
In svn, basic queue list!-)

addqueue.png

Special thanks to Christian Hergert by gtkcellrendererbubble..
When I saw gtkcellrendererbubble.c immediately came me to the mind this..

It works very well, but is necessary to continue developing...

Please, Testing.. tongue
And comment... tongue

Edit.
Now the songs can be removed from the queue list, and queue multiple files... big_smile
...and now delete key work in search entry..:)

So far this characteristic would be thus.. I not going to develop a window for administers this since there are other priorities and they fulfill my needs.. roll

Testing.. Play.. and comment... lol

Re: A new lightweight music manager

Hi there!
I'm so so sorry, i have disappear for several days. sad
I have moved to another house, and was without internet connection, i was just using some basic internet services on work.

But now it's ok, good internet connection, and ready to get join again.

I have updated the translation Portuguese's file (please, take it here), and i think you can leave this as simple 'Portuguese' and not 'Portuguese-Brazil', because i think that the translation it's ok to both. Some day, if someone doesn't like, and prefer translate it to Portuguese "non-Brazil", so we change it. (Edited: some troubles on my host.)

That's all.
Cheers. o/

Re: A new lightweight music manager

Thanks a lot for various new features. Queue list it's a GREAT function!

PhotonX wrote:

Great wish, i have made it too a long ago, the 3º wish in this post.

Some opinions:
Don't you think that the 'Add the library' option must be on the 'Tools' category?

About the 'Shuffle' and 'Repeat' options, what do you think in place then on the panel?

In the preferences, i think that the 'Connect to CDDB server' must be in the 'General' tab, not in the 'Audio' tab. o.o

And, do you think that the 'Lateral panel' view option on the 'View' category, is really necessary? We just have cool buttons next to then to change the view, and it's more easier and fastest by here.

And now a question:
the OSD's model when you cross the mouse over the tray icon, it's very clean, compact and complete. It can not be used for the track change too? And i think that just one model of OSD will decrease lines of code, and so less work (i think). smile

Ah, and i have felt the app starting more fast than before. big_smile

Thanks for all. o/

I just tried pragha and it seems a bit snappier than Quod Libet.

BTW I have a feature request: would it be possible to remember the time position of the last song played? Sort of like hardware mp3 players do.

Re: A new lightweight music manager

pragha is my music manager of choice, but I would like to suggest using the spacebar for play/pause. This is standard for any other media player out there and it often annoys me that I intuitively press space and find it doesn't work in pragha.

Hello all.. wink

Unfortunately, I am not in MY HOUSE, reason why I do not have a single machine with linux installed (Tomorrow it will change this!-).. Reason why these days nonadvance in the development of pragha..

But soon I will have the great news.. smile

Search field of current playlist???
It really tries to develop it million times, but it did not work..
Then, I found bug of gtk, that directly it prohibits to make work it...  "GtkTreeModelFilter should implement GtkTreeSortable".. See in. https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=588250 sad

Queue still is necessary to improve it. For example where the node is inserted, when queue a song after to have reproduced several songs and to have returned to reproduce previous songs, (The node is inserted in the end, as if it had not returned back). It is not understood? They try and will be understand.
Now using Windows, see that winamp does not remember the queud songs, and when return back it ignores the queues. I suppose that I go to use this behavior..

[current play time]/[track length] in the systray tooltip? Yes... is a tiny patch.. Soon...

Yes all!!!

Uhm.. 'Lateral panel' view option, is only for giving him to an approach gnome to the application. I really do not believe that it uses somebody it..

It can not be used for the track change too??? I believe that no, but investigate..
