How it's possible ?

I make a "ftp" arch installation and all work fine.  Arch load correct module and configure my dhcp network.  After installation, in first boot i can't connect.  This message appear before load network service:

missing kernel or user mode driver shpchp

After this network start fail.

I'm try modprobe 8139too and sis900 modules, ifconfig eht0 up..... but nothing happen.

Re: How it's possible ?

AFAIK shpchp is for acpi - so it should not affect your network  :!:  :?:

i get that error with hotplug too - even tho shpchp a module on the system it cannot be inserted into the kernel apparently - who knows why!

Re: How it's possible ?

Maybe this is a problem with stock kernel.
Compile kernel can resolve it ?
I need all sugestions to configure my network. Without this, i can't install arch.

Re: How it's possible ?

disable the module in hotplugs blacklist then the error will not show up again.
/etc/hotplug/blacklist
normally hotplug will identify your eth card.
if you have problems with 8139 cards also try 8139cp or 8139too module. hotplug only tries 8139cp.
8139too must be loaded by hand or in modules section in rc.conf

What if you do: dhcpd eth0
