Force graphics card to display on second DVI port?

Background: My computer has been crashing intermittently. I narrowed it down to a hardware problem by seeing multiple OSes crash, so I bought some canned air and dusted by CPU/heatsink and graphics card, an NVidia 9800. Now, for some reason, nothing is outputted from my primary DVI port, but Xorg isn't configured to output to the second port, so it tries the first and of course nothing is displayed. How do you configure xorg.conf to use another display port?

I've tried running nvidia-settings from a VNC session, but it complains that the current display isn't the one that uses the graphics card, and I can't get it to use display 0 with "nvidia-settings -c 0", so I'd prefer an xorg.conf line to add rather than just be told "try nvidia-settings". Thanks!

Oh well, now nothing is displayed from EITHER port... I guess I need to go get a new graphics card.
