I'm running nouveau-drm from testing and "late" kms is working fine.
I can't get "early" kms mode in mkinitcpio to work. I've added "nouveau" and tried also to add all depending modules in the mkinitcpio.conf without luck. I see it gets loaded in the initrd without any eror message but doesn't change the resolution. And then later it also fails to change the resolution when late mode should start.
from var/log/everything:

my bad: I had missed to add the modprobe.conf file to mkinitcpio.conf.

AndyRTR, is the kernel bug (http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23847) fixed in the new package in testing? What graphic card do you use? I´ll give it a try again with my GF6600.

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Yes it's fixed and new packages from today have just hit the testing repo. Good luck.
