Hi,
I'm new here and i want to know how can i install and configure a driver for my nvidia 9800 gtx graphics card
this command line can do the job ?
# pacman -S nvidia-96xx
certainly not ? ?

I download this driver '"NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-185.18.36-pkg2.run" on the nvidia web site ....... but i don't know how to install the driver.

Don't instal it like that. "pacman -S nvidia nvidia-utils" would do the job.

I second that, at least it worked for me (same graka).

I'd highly recommend loafer's method of installing nvidia drivers over installing the other way.
