Re: Archlinux Handbook

WTF is this? Doesn't look like official Arch Schwag. The ISBN is fake, too.

I notified Dusty.

If you want a nice read, try the wiki! Its a gigantic community maintained repertoire of knowledge. Better than any book could do. wink

eh, it wouldn't hurt to have a hard copy around, especially if you want to refer to an Arch installation without access to the internet. This is quite useful imo, especially on the go.

Haha! Now I really made a fool of myself. But a title featuring "linuk" and an ISBN which returns nothing on major ISBN databases did not compell me to believe that this was backed by Arch. Sorry for the noise.

Great effort, Dusty!

The book was submitted in PDF form... I can certainly upload a copy somewhere.  If people keep reminding me. ;-)

The spelling errors are my fault, I did the whole thing in a matter of hours, and was in a hurry. I didn't realize Amazon wouldn't let me edit the page until it was too late.  The ISBN is owned by createspace, but is legit.  I have the option of putting my own ISBN on but it was easier to just use theirs for now.

Re: Archlinux Handbook

Hi all,
at Amazon is it an e-book or a "real" book?

PS: D'oh forget it - it is a real book big_smile

Re: Archlinux Handbook

I was considering buying the book to support Arch, but decided to just donate to Arch directly.

http://www.archlinux.org/donate/

Perhaps I will still buy the book when the pdf is available. How about a drive to give the pdf to anybody who donates $10 or more to Archlinux.

Thanks dusty, I will ask for this book for my Birthday, as a hard copy and as a support gesture for the awesome Archlinux community and developers.

Education is favorable to liberty. Freedom can exist only in a society of knowledge. Without learning, men are incapable of knowing their rights, and where learning is confined to a few people, liberty can be neither equal nor universal.

I believe the route payments through Amazon's payment system -- createspace is a subsidiary of Amazon.
