JRE install: accepting license

Hi,
I tried to install JRE via pacman.
After the download finished, I have to accept the license in order to install, yet I couldn't find how to accept it. Can somebody provide detailed instructions?

Thanks up front !

Michael Badt

Re: JRE install: accepting license

They want you to read the license, and if memory serves me correctly, you'll have to scroll all the way through to the end.

Re: JRE install: accepting license

I've always had to do a reboot after installing JRE before anything works... not sure why... try that.

Re: JRE install: accepting license

mibadt - you accept the license by saying "Yes, I accept that license" to yourself - that's all. smile

You could rebel, and use the application without reading aand accepting the license - there would be no difference technically. As distributor, Arch is required to inform you about the licensing requirements, hence the install message.

drelyn86 - jre installs into /opt, and therefore requires an amendment to your $PATH. Rebooting is one way to do that, logging out and in again would also work.
