Nvidia: cards and drivers [SOLVED]

Hi,

Where am I to look up a driver, recommended for my card? How am I supposed to tell whether my card (6100) is 'legacy' or not?

Why? I know that it's a case of one size fits all, with certain exceptions. I'd like to know what those exceptions are supposed to be in reasonable detail, because I'm not an Nvidia connoisseur. Is that too much to ask?

The Nvidia site tells you the latest driver for Linux does it not?

Re: Nvidia: cards and drivers [SOLVED]

It took me 5 seconds to find the archwiki page : http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA
5 seconds to find that line : See the README from nvidia for details on which card is supported by which driver.
and the link : http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/L … dix-a.html

No need to be so defensive. If you look below what he said, he edited it. He likely responded to you when he for example had another thread in another tab, and posted that as an "oops, sorry, wrong post". It doesn't make any sense to me for it to be taken otherwise as-is.
