Current Kernel does not work with xf86-video-intel

The extra/xf86-video-intel 2.8.1 does not work with Linux 2.6.30 (only with 2.6.31) what to do? Waiting until update? Switching to testing? installing the damm old extra/xf86-video-intel-legacy ?

Re: Current Kernel does not work with xf86-video-intel

Ok now i added [testing] at the bottom of my pacman.conf (that nothing will be updated) and installed kernel26 from testing

For except that my synaptics touchpad is not working correct anymore, nothing changed hmm whats going on here. It worked all fine until you updated xf86-video-intel, now nothing works hmm

Ok im sorry guys. Seems to work no. Only Compiz Fusion have about 0,5fps

who told you not working?
I use it long time with kde4 and I had no problem. Now I use the AUR package (x86-video-intel-newest) and work very good.

This is not supposed to be the case. What exactly does "not working" mean? It isn't a particularly good description of your problem.

Re: Current Kernel does not work with xf86-video-intel

I agree that there is a problem with current kernel and xf86-video-intel. Compiz slows down abnormaly... After compiling my own 2.6.31.2 everything worked out ok with compiz, but I still get terrible performance in games (due to mesa I presume, I hope that mesa 7.6 will hit the repos soon, cause I've tested both 7.6 and 7.7-devel and I got significantly better performance than with 7.5.2).

Re: Current Kernel does not work with xf86-video-intel

the new driver requirements are mesa 7.6 the kernel 2.6.31 or else you will get really slow performance.
this is why i'm right now looking into getting the new one because the old driver (stable from the AUR!) is giving me awesome performance but i have abug which won't let me connect my laptop using VGA output , the new driver gives me that but i don't have the correct requirements and my whole desktop is lagging.
