Intel's Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller issue.

Hi,
i'm having some trouble in configuring my X to use this Graphic Card. I'm on a Dell's Inspirion 1545, and tried the xf86-video-intel, and the xf86-video-intel-legacy drivers, and neither worked well. On vesa, it runs faster than with xf86-video-intel. I only get ~27FPS when i run glxgears...

Any ideas sad?

Is it only 3d, or do you also have problems with 2d? Did you install libgl? Do you get errors in xorg log?
xf86-video-intel works well with the same card (gm4500hd) here, 370fps in glxgears. I did not manually configure anything.

No, 2D runs slowly too. I have libgl installed and got these errors on Xorg's log:

(EE) [drm] drmOpen failed.
(EE) intel(0): [dri] DRIScreenInit failed. Disabling DRI.

Re: Intel's Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller issue.

Have you done

pacman -S mesa libdrm libgl intel-dri xf86-video-intel xorg xorg-input-drivers hal

have hal running in the background, deleted you xorg.conf ?

If not, try that out.
