Hey together!
I use the kernel26-bfs 2.6.31-303.3 from AUR and I activated in the config file the parameter to use KMS. I use the xf86-video-ati 6.12.4-1 driver. I tried both methods from the wiki to activate kms, but with both methods, the screen suddenly goes black and my system starts right. But in KDE, I only see the mousepointer and the rest of the screen is black. When I press Alt+F2 to start krunner, a grey shadow appears and I can use krunner, but I just see this "shadow" of krunner. Hard to describe.
I have an ATI mobility Radeon X700 and I renamed my xorg.conf. Also I have no vga entry or something else in my menu.lst. When I try to switch to console with Strg+Alt+F1 , the whole sceen shows black and white lines. Now I use my laptop with the "nomodeset" parameter to deactivate kms.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Well, does it work on the stock kernel26 2.6.31 in [testing]?

No, same problem here. First black screen and than in KDE all black, just the mousepointer is visible and I only see shadows of the programs but nothing else (I restart the system blind by pressing alt+F2, konsole, su + password and then shutdown -r now).

Seems that nobody has an idea so I have to wait till problem fixes itself.
Best regards!

Sorry, but I have not found any solution for this problem. The new drivers from the testing repo also doesn't fix the problem.
