KMS on new kernel

Hello

I am currently using the 2.6.30 kernel with the Intel 2.7.1 driver and no KMS. I think I will make the switch to the newest Intel driver and KMS, but first I would like to know if I have to do anything at all to have KMS after upgrading to .31 kernel and 2.8.1 Intel, or the upgrade will bring it to me effortlessly
