[SOLVED] During installation, Pacman fails with error message.

Hi, all.

Just doing a new installation, and have had the same problem with the FTP and Core install.

I partition my disks and the changes are applied without any error messages.  I then move on to package installation and get the following error message:

"Problem setting dbpath /mnt/var/lib/pacman (could not find or read directory)".  This has stopped me in my tracks and I'm unable to continue the installation.  The stupid thing is, I've installed Arch several times before, without any problems.

One option would be to let Arch partition automatically, but that's not what I want.

Any thoughts on where I'm going wrong?

Cheers,

Chris.

Are the successful installation from the same installation media or could it be a bad burn?
Can you successfully choose file system mount points and format the partitions?

Re: [SOLVED] During installation, Pacman fails with error message.

Many thanks for replying. This morning I flattened the HDD instead of trying to use existing partitions. I now have a working Arch box.

Thanks, again.

Chris.
