how to load KDE?

i installed KDE and its packages.. only problem now is. how do i get the thing to load. all grub loads is archlinux. am i supposed to manually type in a command to load kde from this point? what step am i missing? i could not find anywhere on the archlinux website explaining how to actually load the interface, it all seems confusing to me. it explains how to install and configure KDE but not how to actually load it. i've given up and came here for the answer. i have a feeling i need to edit grub maybe (to load KDE), but i couldnt find any info on that on the archlinux website.

Welcome to the forums!  smile

If you didn't install KDM, you can start KDE from the command line with the startx command.  You'll need to create an .xinitrc file with the following and then drop in into your /home/username directory before running startx.

exec startkde
