[SOLVED]DosBox Sound latency

Hi,
I'm having a problem when using dosbox. When I play any game, sounds have some latency of roughly 0,5s, which mean audio/video aren't in sync.
I'm using alsa, have a soundblaster live (the excellent old ones!) and don't have any other sound issues with my setup.
I seem to remember there being a way of tuning alsa's output, but I can't remember how to do that, any ideas?

Re: [SOLVED]DosBox Sound latency

I know. I switched to OSS4, and was really quite happy,until realising that neither Quake Live nor DosBox support it properly.
Those were the main reasons why I 'went backwards' to alsa again... But this latency thing is really strange.
Maybe I'll do an optimized kernel rebuild to see if it changes anything, but somehow I doubt it... sad

Re: [SOLVED]DosBox Sound latency

I 'fixed' the issue I was having with Alsa, by changing the the following values in dosbox.conf

blocksize=512
prebuffer=50

I guess this will be trial and error with any game until I find the best setting. It's not perfect , but is definitely playable. smile

Maybe you can play around with thouse values whilst using OSS4, maybe it helps. I got sound working using OSS4, but it was very very choppy sad
