Rolling Release ?s

So when arch says its a rolling release, does it mean it isnt implementing al of the new features linux develops?
If I look at fedora's feature list for f12
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/12/FeatureList

I see things like improved power management, thusnelda, displayport support and improved speed on kvm qcow2. Does arch not get these? Is there a delay involved? Or does this come mostly from Linux packagers and not from fedora devs.

Re: Rolling Release ?s

duke11235, always read the wiki to get answers to your questions.

Anyway, for the thing which probably you wouldn't be able to find on the wiki, Arch follows upstream. That means if something isn't upstream, Arch probably doesn't have it, though users will generally add it in through the AUR, and changes such as in Fedora are normally committed upstream anyway.

The other factor to consider is that any feature for F12, for example, that comes specifically from Fedora's devs, is normally committed upstream BEFORE it is included in the 'stable' F12 release. Which generally means that we get their features before they do, if you want to see it that way.

You may want to look at this site to better understand how current Arch is:

http://www.oswatershed.org/

The site gives a good impression on how far ahead Arch is with respect to other distributions.
