xorg 7.5 - radeon kms still very slow, "version mismatch" still there

Upgraded to testing/xorg today, and ran with Radeon KMS enabled. Performance is still very slow, but possibly a slight improvement over previous xorg. Also the "version mismatch" error is still there, as follows:

(EE) RADEON(0): [dri] RADEONDRIGetVersion failed because of a version mismatch.
[dri] radeon kernel module version is 2.0.0 but version 1.17.0 or newer is needed.
[dri] Disabling DRI.

Any suggestions? Is this worth a bug report?
