Re: a lightweight power point reader

How about:

~> pak ppthtml
1 aur/xlhtml 0.5.1-1
Contains the Excel (xlhtml) and Powerpoint (ppthtml) to html converters

Edit: there are lots of converts online. Some of them support mail-drop; i.e. sending an mail with *.ppt and receiving a *.pdf in return.

Does that add the images embedded in the ppt too?

I have no idea. Luckily my professors are decent enough to publish pdfs.

I found another interesting piece of software.
TonicPoint Viewer, courtesy of FreeBSD. It runs on my machine with jre and works great!

Edit: here is a similar thread. Personally, I think I will stick with TonicPoint if/when I need a ppt viewer.

Edit 2: Added an url above.

you probably want koffice-kpresenter....though it is not really lightweight if you count in the kde dependencies...
