What about an implementation of pacman w. torrents?

I was just talking to my brother about distributed fileserving, and it occured to me that it would be incredibly cool to have a pacman that used bittorrent to dl.

It would be interesting to see how it worked with the relatively limited number of popular and frequently downloaded packages available.  You could have a system wherein you had a 1:1 upload to download ratio.  I don't know much about networking, so don't know how well it would work, but I think there would be lots of people who would be willing to experiment with a pactorrent package managing app.

There has been confusion in the past about this, so let me say that pacman should not be affected by this.  What do you guys think? What's wrong, what's right?

I just posted this the other day.  Basic rebuttal:  Bit torrent is great for large files and not very efficient for small files like the packages Arch Linux uses.
