blocked [kacpid] causing problems

Hi,

I'm using Arch on an aging Acer TravelMate 4500. A while ago I started to see such messages in dmesg:

INFO: task kacpid:10 blocked for more than 120 seconds.
"echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs" disables this message.

This causing some problems, too, e.g. acpitools hangs so that it cannot even be killed. Also, the computer seems to be unable to cleanly dismount / on shutdown or reboot that is likely to be also due to this problem...

I'm using self compiled and stock kernels as well (2.6.31.4), both the same, and it was like that for the whole 2.6.3{0,1} as much as I can check. I did not yet go even further back in time...

The not-clean shutdown is a real annoying thing and would love to solve this. Any suggestions what can be the reason of this blocking? Hardware problem (wouldn't be surprised with this laptop? If so, how can I diagnose it/work around it? Any info (links?) how to decipher the call trace that I can get some useful info for a bug report?
