Well, i went and done pacman -Syu knowing some things might break . (using testing repo)
anyhow, after doing that i tried to startx and then my whole screen had some pixels corruption (hard to explain) and was unresponsive.
i run gnome with compiz enabled (and emerald), so i tried to load xfce4, xfce4 loaded well, then i went to gnome configuration and changed the window manager back to metacity, gnome loaded well.
What could be the problem?
i use the xf86-video-intel 2.9.0, using Intel 945GME, latest kernel with kms enabled.
i tried deleting the xorg.conf and load X without it, nothing helped.
i tried to search if someone else had the same problem and could not find, even on compiz forums.
any help is appreciated.

Found the error that causing it i guess (it's compiz for sure), i get this:
using: compiz --replace --sm-disable --ignore-desktop-hints ccp --indirect-rendering
WARNING: Application calling GLX 1.3 function "glXCreatePixmap" when GLX 1.3 is not supported! This is an application bug!
so i guess only downgrading back will help?
i also built compiz 8.4 and no luck at all...
it seems this bug should have been fixed in mesa 7.6 but it's still there?

actually the same thing happened to me... but with kwin desktop's effects (yep... kde user )
and after some searching i found it is fixed on mesa 7.6 (atleast thats being said in ubuntu bug tracker https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … bug/433488)
the interesting part is that (using testing repo) i'm supposedly using mesa 7.6-1
any other info is appreciated

The wird thing about it is that it is already fixed in mesa 7.6 because i did try to patch using the patch i downloaded from ubuntu bug tracker, it said like the patch had already been added, so it's probably mesa 7.6 and some other bug.
