Give the maintainer a little time to test / package smile

Re: Compiz Fusion Update?

Many bugfixes and better KDE integration (it has even a new menu for it in Ccsm). So, there is a bit of a rush tongue

It just needs bumping in the pkgver, nothing else has changed.

Re: Compiz Fusion Update?

The dev has to get round to it (TU in this case), AND it has to be tested. Especially for something like compiz where bugs do crash your machine.

Re: Compiz Fusion Update?

KDE integration is what I need. I use CF as my WM in KDE(the effects are smoother) and currently I'm unable to use the KDE Window  Decorator with CF(crashes CF). So, yeah there's a bit of rush.

Re: Compiz Fusion Update?

I am using compiz 0.8.4 for 2 days in kde 4.3. It works great. With that version i can select every window decorations (oxygen, ozone, nitrogen) for kde4-window-decorator. And it works. With 0.8.2 i can use only nitrogen. If someone need PKGBUILDs i can upload it somewhere (if you to lazy to change pkgver).

If there's a rush you can always build it yourself. It's already flagged in the repos and should be updated eventually.

A rush for you. I'm sure the TU who's doing the updating VOLUNTARILY will get round to it, when he has time.

I didn't mean any disrespect to the TU. I was just stating why I was in a hurry as I was having the aforementioned problems in the current version. neutral

Fair enough. Used ABS/AUR recently? It's for all those in a rush, like you and I smile. I currently have about a dozen packages which are ahead of the repos due to this. And of course, the requisite 3 dozen AUR packages.

The beauty of pacman is even with all this tinkering, everything Just Works (TM).

Re: Compiz Fusion Update?

let me just say it will come sometime during this week, but really, having a thread like this won't make it happen any faster...

Thanks for the reply. And sorry about the thread, I should have been patient.

Re: Compiz Fusion Update?

Is something preventing the package from being updated?

In the meantime, I tried to compile it myself but it didn't go well. Maybe someone could post an example PKGBUILD for compiz 0.8.4, please? wink
