I just bought the Editor's Choice Edition of UT2004 and it installed on Arch without any issues. It even runs great on my Athlon XP 2000+ and GeForce FX 5700. It looks like the Windows version may have more graphical detail but has anyone else noticed this? I'm using the latest nvidia proprietary driver from the repos.

Actually it runs in my box fairly faster than in windows. But that might be my preconception that linux is just faster

Performance is good, but it looks like the texture detail might not be as good. Maybe that's just my preception, or maybe the nvidia linux drivers are missing something.

I finally figured out what is missing from the linux version. I knew it looked different than in Windows. Seems like the linux port is missing dynamic shadow support.

Getting UT2004 for Onslaught is worth the price alone. I have played the other game types all once or twice but have been playing Onslaught almost daily... GOD that game is addictiing!
