The world is going crazy!
1) We have suddenly got people putting versions of stuff that is in the repos in their own repos!
2) We have had, and always have, people posting PKGBUILDS with just the $pkgver changed
3) People making PKGBUILDS for things that are on the forums already
4) Last but not least, my own personal bafflement, about 7 threads about custom kernels, including a new thread everytime a new patch version is released! it's a matter of changing one letter in the whole build!
it's just crazy! what is the point of anyone (devs and helpful users alike) spending time to try to make sure that things are done well and properly documented if people are going to replicate their work 4 times to a vareity of standards!

Hopefully, the new AUR (Arch Users Repositories) system will solve these problems. It still in developpement/testing. I don't know much about AUR but I think that it will let users submit packages and will replace the current TUR system. A forum search might give more info.

At least its all going on on the forums, just think what it would be like if it was all happening on the wiki.

people actually need to know what they are talking about when posting to the wiki so luckily it's not spammed [yet]
