hi, i have recently installed archlinux on my new hp dv6 1140 . it works perfectly excpet for the sound card !! any idea ??? my sound card is supported with the alsa driver http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index. … Vendor-IDT but i can't configure it it has some thing to do with Intel Corporation 82801 I HD Audio Controller . help !!!:|

on ubuntu 9.04 i just add " options snd_hda_intel model=hp-dv5 " to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base but it does not work on archlinux

On my HP 6735s when the headphone jack worked but the speakers were mute, I found pressing Fn-F9 turned the speakers on (no multimedia keys this "business laptop, but a speaker-mute icon on the F9 key).

it did not work for me . what is the equivalent of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base on archlinux ?? !!!
