Openbox, undecorated windows by default.

I'd like to set my windows in Openbox undecorated by default: after all the title is visible in the programs bar and the menu is reachable with alt+space... So what is the title bar for?

So, do you know how to set the windows undecorated by default?

Thanks

In rc.xml:

<applications>
     <application class="*">
         <decor>no</decor>
    </application>
...

ezzetabi, Openbox is very thoroughly documented. You should try resolving little issues like this for yourself.

And the titlebar is there so you can move, close, maximize, minimize and shade windows with a mouse

All that can be done with keybinds too, moljac.

Yes, but it can be done with the mouse only when the titlebar is present (holding down a modifier key and using a mouse doesn't count).
Was just trying to explain the purpose of the titlebar smile

Hey dudes, I know this post is a couple years old.. but why start another one.. Oh and, if this post was never made by ezzetabi, i never would have found it, and well, me searching for this thread was my 'solving it for myself' if threads aren't created, its often much harder to track down the info you need. anyways...

After you undecorate openbox windows.. (lets just say urxvt only for now)  with  <decor>no</decor> in your rc.xml, What needs to be done in order to retain use of mouse dragging etc.. ?

for example, How would I set a rule so I can press ctrl + click anywhere on the undecorated terminal and drag it?

Arch - pronounced 'ark' as in Architecture.

I think the rules here state that you should not necro-bump.

Nevertheless, Openbox has plenty of documentation for configuration.
