pacman. strange behaviour

Hi guys,

$sudo pacman -S kernel26
Password: 
kernel26 package not found, searching for group...
error: 'kernel26': not found in sync db

What is the probable source  of the error and how to solve it?

I am the same error, regardless of which repository package I query. Started today. I'll wait it out, perhaps its an issue with the repos...

Still not looking good. /var/cache/pacman/pkg/ is empty, though I can query locally installed packages w/o issue. Mirrors list has not changed. Trying to search for a resolution, but no cigar so far...

Changed mirrorlist. No effect.

Try with "pacman -Syyu -v --debug" and post the whole output.

Hi guys, my pacman has self healed. Don't know what was this about. Some shamanic dances around mirrorlist (put mirrors that are far away from me first), a night of sleep, star astrology. It works now.

I don't mark this thread as solved since you guys still have problems.
