[SOLVED] No microphone on ALSA, only noise is recorded

Hello,

I have Realtek ALC268 sound chip on my Acer Aspire 7720 laptop.  Now I need the microphone to work, but when I try to record using Audacity I just get low-frequency noise (sounds like mains hum).

The internal microphone works, but the sound is very noisy and can barely be understood.

Any solutions? I've Googled around and nothing.

Thanks.

All the parameters are on 100 and the 'Input Source' is set to 'Mic', everything looks alright there.

EDIT: solved it by lowering all the Boost controls and setting the 'Capture' control to a sane value.

@Renan Birck,

I have an Acer Extensa 4420, which uses the same sound card, so I'm wondering what modules you load to get your mic to work.  I can't even get a hum out of mine.
