Volume control/mixer on kdemod with oss

I'm quite new to arch - I'm running kdemod since a few days ago. I like it very much, but that's not the point of this thread.

I don't know what kind of plasmoid I can use to have a speaker icon in the notification area. What I want is to quickly change the volume. KMix displays an empty window (no sliders). A bit of googling revealed that it may not be compatible with oss v4. Is there any workaround (in AUR maybe?).

For now I'm using ossxmix which is a GTK GUI (looks ugly and it's too complicated for simple volume changing).

Thanks in advance!

Re: Volume control/mixer on kdemod with oss

I'm reporting back, though I could not solve my problem. I removed OSS, went with ALSA. Sound just works, skype works perfectly and KMix also.
