Re: October 2009 Screenshots

really cool! always nice to see xmonad with nice colors smile The one gripe I have is the layout you're using imo doesn't do justice on the player and irc windows. (too little space for them on the desktop).

Holy cow! There is KDE all over the place. Really seems like it's finally usable. big_smile

Minimal looks <> minimal system?

Not really....

After an Odysee from Gnome to Openbox to Fluxbox to PekWM to Xmonad (which I ocassionally still like to use) I have stranded on KDE4.3...

How did you get your taskbar to display the tasks stacked like that?

You take the normal taskbar >> Task Manager Settings >> enable Force Row Settings and set the maximum number of rows.

Hmmm, didn'r receive any mail yet.

Hey Ibex, I've sent you a second mail, this time using the Archlinux form. If you didn't get it:

You can find the dzen2 PKGBUILD I used, as well as a precompiled package at http://public.philipdubois.be/?dir=dzen2.

---------- Forwarded message ----------
Hi there,

Thanks for the compliment, and I'd love to give more information.
The left bar, as you asumed, is wbar with the Token (xhite version) iconset. You can find it on DeviantArt. Unfortunately I don't have the config for wbar anymore, but with the wbarconf program you can easily replicate it.
Now, for the tob bar, that's accomplished by piping conky-cli into dzen2 ("dzonky" ;-)), the configs are a bit scattered around, so I'll point you to the exact location:
Main script: http://public.philipdubois.be/configs/home/bin/dzen.sh
Subscripts: http://public.philipdubois.be/?dir=conf … bin/dzonky
Conky configs: http://public.philipdubois.be/?dir=conf … fig/dzonky
Dzen icons: http://public.philipdubois.be/?dir=conf … icons/dzen
At the bottom of the screenshot you see two other instances of conky (configs in the previous links) and the tint2 task manager. It's configfile is http://public.philipdubois.be/configs/h … t2/tint2rc.
The configs aren't always up-to-date, but I believe they'll certainly get you started.

Good luck!

Re: October 2009 Screenshots

Updated KDE4 a bit:
new_screen-300x240.png
*I just noticed  a shadow on the conky, hmm :S

And since KDE crashes randomly, and I get annoyed of it, I decided to give a tiling WM a go, DWM:
