Using the User Forum Post Features

I could not find any documentation on how to use the quote, code, list...features when creating a new post. The trial and error approach led nowhere. Could someone please point me to the documentation, if it exists, or else provide a short explanation.

this is how a quote looks like: (you generate this automatically when you press on "quote" at the side of the post you want to quote)
