I just installed kde 4.3.2 on my arch the other day, but now when i click on the leave button there's no shutdown option there, only the logout, switch user and suspend to ram or hard disk options are showing. I have to logout to gdm( i have gnome installed) then shut down from there.
Pretty newbie topic but i dont want to logout all the time to shutdown.

You most likely have to add your username to the power group.
as root:
gpasswd -a <username> power
Try that and reboot.

Or the simplest solution will be to use kdm. But then you wont be able to shutdown from gnome.

Could this be another PolicyKit/ConsoleKit permission error? Check in the KDE System Settings -> PolicyKit Authorizations (something like that) to ensure that normal users can power off the machine.
