Hello all,
I've got a problem mounting an USB drive.
It has been working perfectly for months.
Now, when I connect it, here's why I get in log:
Oct 27 16:04:22 Foobar usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2
Oct 27 16:04:22 Foobar usb 2-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
That's all... No error message, no mass storage driver started... Just this.
Now, lsusb gives me:
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0928:ffff Oxford Semiconductor, Ltd (<- This is the drive!!!)
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
But if I do fdisk -l, I only see my hard disk, not the USB drive. Usually, I was able to mount it using /dev/sdc1, after the mass-storage driver was started.
There was no auto-mount for this disk, so no /etc/fstab stuff here...
It has stopped working since I've used: http://www.fs-driver.org/ to copy data from the disk on windows. Could it be something that was changed by the driver? Because it was working perfectly two weeks ago.
Thanks for your time all!
Best regards.

modprobe usbhid
modprobe usb_storage
This doesn't help.
Hmmm the fact I don't even see the disk (usually it shows me at least /dev/sdc1) is really weird.
Here's another question: What makes a drive map to /dev/... when you connect it?
Anyone?

This could be disk error. I got similar problem and found, that my external disk is gone...
check it with different computer...good luck

Is a harddisk in an external case? You could try putting it in a different case.
