[SOLVED] Can't start arora as a normal user

I don't know when it happend, but I don't seem to be able to start arora as a normal user any longer - it starts as root with no problem though - what can I do to figure out what's wrong - there is no output when starting it via the commandline.

I had a similar problem.  A simple reboot fixed the problem.

I then removed Arora and kdemod...

Jeesh - I thought I left this reboot-thing behind when I stopped using windoze - thanks for the hint - it solved the problem here too.

Well, you should have left the reboot thing behind. For some reason I had to log out and log back in for it to work again.
On linux you should only have to reboot when you update your kernel. Otherwise I believe everything can be fixed or will just work without needing a reboot. (Except for those rare instances where you have an obscure hardware/driver combination and get a freeze)

Lots of things only take effect if you log the user out/back in, but I'm not sure what the relation is with arora.... not getting any output...
Still though, flash seems to run faster with arora than with other apps

Re: [SOLVED] Can't start arora as a normal user

After Arora crashes it will never start up again until I logout and log back in, or reboot. I found a file in /tmp named Arora....  something (I can't remember it's exact name). I deleted that file and Arora works again! So I guess that is the case for everyone who has a similar problem
