Re: install grub2 on macbook

I do the following things.
Remove grub package install grub2 package and clean /boot partition (all) and type grub-install or something (I don't remember) to install grub2 files on partition and this command will autodecect my kernels/systems and after that I adjust kernel lines in grub.cfg smile
Here you can find more info about grub commands:
http://grub.enbug.org/Manual

Re: install grub2 on macbook

I run Arch on a MacBook, but I use LILO. Also, what's your hardware revision? (`dmidecode -s system-product-name`; you need 'dmidecode' package.) The procedure may be different between revisions.

Re: install grub2 on macbook

I have also an Macbook (currently with rEFIt and Lilo) and I want use in future Grub2, with a Linux only enviroment without OS X.

Most important questions are:
Do I need a HFS+ Partition? If yes, I will not use EFI.
Why are this guys using EFIFB in the guid, I thinks this is not a good idea in the days of Kernel-Mode-Setting. Or is KMS not working with EFI, I think we use the bios-dump for this reason?
