ATI KMS - Supported?

My laptop has an ATI Radeon XPress 200M, which, if I remember correctly, is an R200 based integrated graphics processor. I'd like to get kernel mode setting working on it, and I'm wondering what the best way is.
Should I build kernel26-kms or build a release candidate of 2.6.31 or do something else entirely?

Re: ATI KMS - Supported?

I installed kernel26-kms (it conflicts with kernel26 and kernel26-firmware), and now things are working way better. I'll be reverting to the standard kernel when 2.6.31 comes out though.

Re: ATI KMS - Supported?

Hey, I have the same videocard but I'm using fglrx with all the downgraded packages...

Could you please post some info on how the new KMS is working for you? video playback, 2d, 3d, suspension.

When I tried the radeon driver I wasn't able to suspend the laptop, that was the biggest issue I had.
