[SOLVED] Desktop--Enlightenment?

How about e16 or e17 ? And the depends on gtk or qt or others? I don't like heavy depends and heavy libs. Sometimes, I think maybe gtk is in wrong way.

I didn't use enlightenment, but I heard it is very cool, especially e17. Hope someone used that can tell me about it.

  Thank you.

Re: [SOLVED] Desktop--Enlightenment?

e16 is behaving strangely. See my first post evar. I dropped it at that point when I realized I could no longer upgrade and keep my preferred usage.

e17 feels pretty solid despite it's development status. The only real problems I experienced were with the placements of theme elements being a little off (this only in that configuration panel thingy). Animated backgrounds are cooler with compositing on and you have terminals with true transparency. smile

Re: [SOLVED] Desktop--Enlightenment?

I read enlightenment has a default or its own web browser called Eve (See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison … vironments ). Is that true ? If it is true, what's its status now? I am just curious about it.

no it is not true.  I tried eve a couple of months ago, it was very fast but missing a lot of features. I haven't followed the development since though.
The wikipedia page you linked seems to be horribly outdated. I mean, exhibit (which it says is the default enlightenment image viewer) has been death for ages....
