Re: How to install RPM?

what card do you have?
Chances are if it is Nvidia or Ati, the wiki has something on it..
you may also try searching the forums for help.

As far as using an rpm package manager, Archlinux has its own package manager (pacman), and it is not rpm based.

Re: How to install RPM?

wiki2.archlinux.org
It is a place where documentation can be created/edited on the fly.
It is searchable too. The downside is organisation is not super easy, but there is indeed a wealth of information there.
here is the index page, containing many of the documents...

Re: How to install RPM?

Here is a sample how to install a rpm package (read section 3) with the help of mc.
http://wiki2.archlinux.org/index.php/Win4Lin%20setup

Another solution is to use rpmunpack (pacman -S rpmunpack).

Re: How to install RPM?

Thanks for the help... but i ran into a problem... the driver that wiki sugested doesnt work with xorg 6.8. Fortunately I was able compile red hats package manager, so i could install the newest driver that works with 6.8 . Although i dont like using rpm much it was necessary to install my ati driver.

Re: How to install RPM?

there's a package in TUR of link i think, where an ati-driver for xorg 6.8 is available...

add

[link]
Server = ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/tur/link

to your /etc/pacman.conf and do a

pacman -Syf ati-drivers

// STi
