back, finally

hi all!

i've been using arch before (left about 9 months ago). i've tried out tons of distros in the meantime. i've learned a lot.

now i'm back to arch. i enjoy it even more than i did before, probably cause i know more, i can do things pretty much on my own. i have set up my system with gnome, sound, tv, video, network, etc. in just a few hours.... exactly the way i wanted. no prepached fedora or ubuntu gnome, but the real gnome. elegant like arch.

it feels great to be back  smile

Re: back, finally

Interesting. This may just be a typical story around here (haven't been around long enough to know), but it honestly wasn't until I had run a certain source-based distro for quite a while that I really started to appreciate Arch to the extent that I should have all along. I enjoy being able to manage my box, but without the overkill of having to control practically every aspect. If this is what drives the fancy of someone else then more power to them. My experience was that such an environment has a way of swallowing you and inflicts a myopic perspective.
